RENO, Nevada — Influential Women of the Sierra Nevada has identified 40 finalists in their Influential Women of the Sierra Nevada Awards and will unveil the Top 10 Award winners in an exciting virtual awards program on October 28.
Influential Women of the Sierra Nevada (formerly Sierra Nevada Powerful Women) is a regional initiative that aims to connect, develop, and celebrate women leaders making positive impacts in their professions and in their community.
Nominations for the Influential Women of the Sierra Nevada awards were open and the community responded by nominating more than 100 impactful women from across the region and casting more than 16,000 votes. Using voting information and nomination materials, 40 finalists were selected and announced in September. These incredible 40 finalists include real estate agents, life coaches, teachers, business owners, healthcare workers and more. You can learn about each and every one of them at www.WeAreInfluentialWomen.com/awards/.
“We are really pleased to receive a broad cross-section of nominees this year and are proud of the group of leaders that have been identified as our 40 finalists,” said Influential Women Director Sarah Day Levesque.
From this year’s finalists, the Top 10 Influential Women were chosen based on a new, rigorous evaluation process using nomination materials, votes, and responses to key questions. The Top 10 will be announced on October 28 at the Influential Women Awards Program, which due to the pandemic, will be held virtually this year. Despite the new format, the awards program will still feature moving awards presentations, an inspirational keynote, lots of time to connect with others in the community, and everyone’s favorite emcee, Connie Wray.
“This year has been full of challenges, some greater than any this generation has ever seen, but women in the community have stepped up in so many inspiring ways.” Day Levesque continued. “We look forward to honoring all of them, and the broader Sierra Nevada community, for what has been accomplished in this year of trial. We also look forward to growing the Influential Women of the Sierra Nevada community and helping to spur on this movement with initiatives and events that support continued positive change in the community.”
